Nebula Gaming began as a dream in 2015 when three passionate Australian gamers—Michael Chen, Sarah Williams, and James Cooper—found themselves frustrated by the lack of premium gaming facilities in Sydney. While Australia's gaming community was growing rapidly, the infrastructure to support serious players and esports enthusiasts lagged behind other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
The founders pooled their savings and industry connections to open their first modest gaming café in Surry Hills, Sydney, with just 15 gaming stations. What set them apart was their unwavering commitment to providing top-tier equipment and a community-focused atmosphere that welcomed gamers of all skill levels.
The timing couldn't have been better—Australia's esports scene was just beginning to gain momentum. Nebula quickly became a training ground for emerging talent, hosting small local tournaments that grew in scale and prominence with each passing month.
By 2018, Nebula had outgrown its original location. The team secured investment from tech entrepreneur Victoria Zhang, allowing them to realize their vision for a truly futuristic gaming experience. They moved to our current flagship location in central Sydney, introducing cutting-edge VR facilities, dedicated tournament spaces, and expanded to 120 ultra-high-end gaming stations.
Today, Nebula Gaming operates three locations across Australia—Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane—with plans for Perth underway. We've grown from a passionate startup to Australia's premier gaming destination, hosting national championships and serving as a training facility for professional teams while maintaining our core mission: to provide an exceptional gaming experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
